RUSSIAN PLANE CRASH KILLS ALL ON BOARD
A Russian aircraft flying from Russia to Egypt crashed into Egyptian mountains, killing all 224 crew and passengers.
US and European security officials have reported that they received intelligence implying that a bomb may have been planted on the plane and Moscow announced on Friday that it would be suspending all flights to Egypt.
Thousands of British holiday makers were left stranded, but the UK has since flown 3,500 travelers out of Sharm el-Sheikh.
The UK halted flights to and from the resort on Wednesday, citing intelligence concerns that the Airbus may have been downed by a bomb.
ANTI-CAPITALIST PROTESTERS STORM STREETS OF LONDON IN MILLION MASK MARCH
Demonstrators gathered in Parliament Square, protesting against austerity, mask surveillance, corruption, and the government in general.
Many wore the famous ‘Guido’ masks associated with the Anonymous hacking group, but some remained unmasked.
Three police officers have been injured and are currently being treated in hospital after the protest became violent. There has been more than 50 arrests, mainly for public disorder offences.
INSTAGRAM STAR QUITS SOCIAL MEDIA, CLAIMING ‘NONE OF IT IS REAL.’
Instagram star and model Essena O’Neill has quit the site that made her name, claiming the “perfect life” that she portrayed on social media was actually making her miserable.
She released a tearful final YouTube video explaining the reasoning behind her actions: “I spent everyday looking at a screen, viewing and comparing myself to others,” said the 19 year old, “It’s easier to look at shiny pretty things that appear happy than stopping and just getting real with yourself.”
O’Neill has since gone viral on social media. Oh, the irony.
LONDON GOES BALMY FOR BALMAIN
Balmain launched their collection with H&M on Thursday and suffice to say, people totally lost their shit.
Fashionistas camped out for up to two days, and even paid to line up to get their hands on the glamourous new designs.
People who weren’t as lucky have branded designer Oliver Rousteing a “jerk,” accusing him of deliberately limiting stocks.
STUDENT THAT TWEETED ‘KILL ALL WHITE MEN’ HAS CHARGES DROPPED
A student has had malicious communication charges dropped against her, following a tweet she posted reading: “kill all white men.”
Bahar Mustafa, welfare and diversity officer at Goldsmiths University, has since received death threats and online abuse, and had also survived a vote of no confidence in her position for the student union.
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY MARKED ACROSS UK
The Queen has led tributes to the UK’s war dead at the annual Remembrance Sunday service in central London.
Thousands gathered at the Cenotaph memorial in Whitehall for a two-minute silence to honour those killed in World Wars One and Two and later conflicts.
