MOtivation Monday – #1
It’s that time of year. Your wallets so dry you mistake it for a piece of beef jerky, you feel like you’re living in an igloo, and all those deadlines & exams are drawing nearer (along with the takeaway driver holding your 5000th curry of the week, since cooking for yourself WILL lead to a breakdown over the hob, and nobody wants that).
January is a tough month for everybody, whether you’re studying or working or just lazing about at home. But that’s okay. Often we get ourselves in a rut because “hitting the ground running” is just all too much after that heavenly retreat during Christmas (and even worse if you celebrate Thanksgiving!).
But instead of focussing on the horror of getting up & going to work lugging an extra 15 kg (i.e. Christmas weight), BE POSITIVE! It’s a new year, which means that you’ve gotta reset your mindset and start afresh, trust me, you’ll thank yourself for it. Ditch the negativity, take up a new hobby, and most importantly, push yourself to be better. This is something I’m trying myself, and its such a good way of fighting off that December sluggishness.
The more things you do, the more you’ll enjoy life, simply put. So don’t panic, it’s all good. This time next week, you’ll be deep in the rave somewhere, back at home munching on a fat roast, or just loving life.
